Caroline Clarke, CEO for Philips Asean Pacific, says APAC has a fast-growing healthcare market, and is therefore a critical region for Philips’ personal health and health systems businesses. With an ageing population, growing middle class and increasing rates of chronic diseases, the region is facing unprecedented challenges.

The recent Future Health Index study, commissioned by Philips, found that although people in Asia are aware of the benefits of 'connected care technologies' – such as health-related trackers, wearables, home health monitoring devices, live electronic communication between patients and doctors and remote patient monitoring – there is still a lack of understanding about how and why to use them.
"We see a big opportunity to address these issues, and improve access to, and quality of, healthcare across the region," said Caroline Clarke, adding that APAC is a priority market for Philips to cementits position as a world leader in healthcare technology.
